Biblical Worldview:
-
Since the 1960’s when the United States Supreme Court declared that religious practices in public schools, such as reading from the Bible and reciting prayers, were unconstitutional, parents have been encouraged to believe that the education system is morally neutral. However, since every institution is influenced by some moral framework, at Laurel we have concluded that neutrality in education is a myth.
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God, and that it answers essential questions about life, death, and eternal life. Therefore, we orient our guiding precepts on the Holy Scriptures and present our education from a biblical worldview:
· God's Word is our guidepost. [2 Tim 3:16-17]
· Parents are our partners. [Deuteronomy 6.6-7]
· Children are persons made in the image of God and worthy of being treated with dignity and respect. [Genesis 1.27]
